Newcomerstown Public Library

The Newcomerstown Public Library is organized as a school district public library. This means that we are a public library whose state defined service area is the Newcomerstown School District. Public libraries in Ohio have no taxing authority. Even though the library is governed by a board of seven trustees, the Newcomerstown School Board of Education is the taxing authority for the library. As such, they are also responsible for the appointment of library board trustees. The library board consists of seven trustees, which represent area residents, provides fiscal oversight, develops service goals, and develops policies for the Library.

The present trustees are:

• Weldon Little
• Sandalynn Henry
• James R. Russell

The board meets on the second Tuesday of every month, at 6:00 pm.
