National Data Buoy Center
Fascinating site that provides real-time weather information from moored and drifting buoys that are stationed worldwide and on all U.S. coasts, including the Great Lakes. Historical information is also available from each of the stations. This is a unique site and the data is accurate and current. The photographs and descriptions of the buoys are great, and there is a virtual tour that describes how they are built.

This site is the electronic version of the same "Bulletin" the Library receives. Begun in 1872, this highly-informative weekly publication is prepared and maintained by The Joint Agricultural Weather Facility (JAWF). In this site you will find statistical information on precipitation amounts, weather data for most U.S. cities, drought monitors and maximum and minimum temperature maps. This site is excellent for illustrating the worldwide economical and agricultural impact of the weather.
