Library Cards
Adults 18 and over must provide proof of current address to get a library card and borrow materials. This can be a recently postmarked piece of mail or a driver's license with your current address.
Children under 18 must provide proof of address and have their card signed by a parent or guardian who accepts responsibility for the items checked out by the child. A parent or guardian's valid library card can be used to verify address for a child.
In signing the borrower application card for a child, parents and guardians accept:
- Financial responsibility for fines and lost items borrowed by the child.
- Full responsibility for guiding the child in selecting appropriate materials from the collection.
- Parents and guardians may elect to restrict their child's access to only juvenile material. Doing so will bar the child from using public access computers and borrowing any materials cataloged as adult material including videos, CDs, and DVDs. These restrictions can only be changed upon written request or by the parent or guardian coming to the library to make the change in person.
All borrowers are issued a library card with a personal ID number and a matching key tag with the same ID number. You must use your library card to check out any item from the Library.
Think of your library card as a valuable credit card-don't leave home without it!
