Computer Policy

The Library provides acces to nine computers free of charge. The first 5 printouts are also free. Library computers are equipped with a variety of software packages and include acces to online databases and the Internet. Materials may be saved to 3.5" floppy disks or USB drives.

A valid library card is required to use the computers. Cardholders must be in good standing. Computer sessions will be limted to 30 minutes during peak periods.

All users are encouraged to carefully evaluate information from the Internet for quality and appropriateness. The Library cannot guarantee the quality or reliability of information found on the Internet. Software found on the Internet may also contain viruses, and users are strongly advised to install virus checking software on their home computers before downloading material from the Internet.

The Library is not responsible for loss of data or software/hardware damage resulting from patron's use of software from the Internet.

User may send and receive email housed on a remote server. The Library cannot provide email addresses for users.

The Library monitors usage in order to enforce library policies regarding computer use and access. Chat, pornography, hate sites, and illegal activities are expressly forbidden.

Violators will lose computer privileges PERMANENTLY and may face criminal charges for illegal activity.

PARENTS BE AWARE: FILTERING SOFTWARE DOES NOT GUARANTEE A SAFE INTERNET ENVIRONMENT. YOUR CHILD MAY NEED YOUR SUPERVISION.
