Newcomerstown Public Library

The library will be hosting a benefit fashion show on Saturday,  February 27th at 2:00 pm. All proceeds from the fashion show will go towards our "Back on Track" fundraising goal of paying off our loan. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the library.

The library will close early at 1:00 on the 27th to get ready for this event.

The fashon show will be held at the Christ United Methodist Church at 648 Oak Street, Newcomerstown.

The Friends of the Library will be having their monthly book sale in the annex on Friday, February 12 from 10 am till 4 pm, and on Saturday February 13 from 9 am to 11 am. A big selection of hard and paperback books, VCR tapes, and music CD's are available for donation. All monies collected will go towards the library's fund raising.

The next meeting of the Friends will be March 2 at 4pm in the library annex. Anyone interested in helping the library is invited to attend the meetings. Dues are $2 per year.

The library has a book cart in front of the check-0ut with good used books for sale, priced as marked.

The Friends of the Library is looking for a 4 drawer locking file cabinet with keys. If you have one to donate, please contact the library at (740) 498-8228.

Upcoming events for the library will be a Fashion Show on February 27th at 2 pm at Christ United Methodist Church. Tickets may be purchased at the library for $5. There will also be a sports memorabilia auction at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on March 20. Photos with the Easter Bunny will be held on March 27 at the library annex. All funds raised by these events will go to the Back on Track fund for the library.

The Newcomerstown Rotary Club is accepting donations of good used or new items to be auctioned off in May. More information may be obtained by calling Janet Chaney at (740)-498-8562.

The Newcomerstown Public Library will be holding a quilt show that will run April 23 & 24 from 9:00 to 4:00. The show will be located at St. Paul's Luteran Church, 121 South College Street, in Newcomerstown. There will be vendor tables, demonstrations, and a lunch stand. Tickets are $5 at the door. There will also be door prizes and a quilt raffle.

During each day of the quilt show a table runner class will be offered from 12:00 to 3:00. The cost for the class is $25 and will include the material. Please pre-register and pre-pay at the library by April 16th. This will give us an accurate count on the kits we need to make. Below are examples of the table runners you can choose to make.

The market tote class will be offered both days from 9:30 to 11:30. This class is $10 and you must bring 1 yard of fabric (denim, canvas, or cotton).

You will need to bring your sewing machine for the classes. All money raised from this event goes to the "Back on Track" library fund.
