Access Digital Audiobooks with OverDrive Download Station Print

The Newcomerstown Public Library now has a new way for you to access much of the large OverDrive digital collection for use on your personal devices: the OverDrive Download Station. OverDrive offers patrons access to thousands of titles in downloadable audiobook and music formats. Don't have a personal computer? Don't worry! The OverDrive Download Station allows for you to download media directly to your personal listening device, such as your MP3 player or iPod.

Downloading is easy and fast! Bring your personal listening device, your connector cord, and your library card; open the catalog and click on iDownloads. You can then login with your library card and pin, browse the listing of titles and download directly to your MP3 player or iPod; listen and enjoy!

If you've got a personal computer, OverDrive also offers e-books for checkout and download. Check out the full collection available for loan from OverDrive. Have an iPod, iPod Touch or iPad? OverDrive also offers a free downloadable app, available in the iTunes App Store. Unfortunately, Newcomerstown Library's OverDrive Download Station is not compatible with eBook downloading at this time.

E-Books, Audio and Video Downloads Print

Check out our Digital Content located under the Catalogs & Research menu located on the left side of the website. Here is where you can download books, music, and videos to your computer or other approved devices. This service is not available inside the library, but by using your home computer, you can listen to music or read a book anywhere you go. Best of all it is free for you to use and enjoy.

We offer two different collections for you to use. One is from the SEO catalog that we use here in the library. The other is from a project hosted by the state of Ohio, called the Ohio Ebook Project. They both use the same software from a company called Overdrive, but they have different content. This allows Newcomerstown Library to provide access to a much richer collection than if we were acting alone, and allows the library to make more efficient use of its money.
